Carolines’s Bio -

At her core, Caroline Liem is a storyteller. She began her career as a classical musician, then an actor, interpreting the writer’s words and director’s vision on stage. Soon, she realized the roles for a woman of color as herself were few and far between. Being the change she wished to see required action and led her to the craft of casting. There is great collaboration and openness when guiding filmmakers toward diversity and equity in casting, in which art reflects an inclusive world.

Caroline has cast studio features, independent films, television series and pilots for ABC, CBS, The CW, Disney Studios, Fox, NBC, Netflix, Nick Jr, Paramount, Sony, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Bros. Mentored by some of the best in our industry led her to Disney Studios’ casting department overseeing feature films Gone In Sixty Seconds, Pearl Harbor, and Gangs of New York, among others. She served as head of casting for the award-winning Jimmy Kimmel Live! and enjoyed contributing her keen eye for talent on the video game franchises, Assassin’s Creed III and Far Cry. Independent films include Rust Creek and Bienvenidos a Los Angeles. X-Men 2 and Blade Trinity round out her continuing love for casting global blockbusters, hard-hitting dramas with a sense of humor, and character-driven projects.

Finding ourselves in a pivotal moment, where Asian representation is visible, voices raised, ready to speak up and finally, be heard - has signaled to Caroline that the industry may very well be ready for women of all backgrounds to helm the top tier in their respective creative fields. And for Caroline, in this long overdue moment in her career, that is fully stepping into producing projects that move beyond monolithic labels, and truthfully reflect our world and communities in all its colors, vibrance and abilities.
