Meet BD Gunnell! BD is my lead Creative Producer on Alone Girl. She’s got multiple producing credits in the independent film field and is a member of the P.G.A. You can check out her bio below. In this episode, you’ll hear how I met BD and was able to attract her interest in Alone Girl and how she ultimately signed on to be my lead producer. You’ll also hear about some of the ups and downs we’ve already been on as we try to secure the financing for Alone Girl. We also talk about the production company BD has started - Empowered Entertainment, and how the company aims to seek out female investors for the slate of films she’s planning on producing which includes Alone Girl.

BD’s Bio -

BD grew up in the Midwest just north of Louisville, KY. As a child, she would watch the behind-the-scenes specials anywhere they were available. Little did she know that she would one day be running the sets she was watching on TV. In 2006, BD joined the industry as a makeup artist and quickly transitioned into running departments, then in 2010 running entire production teams as a Line Producer. She quickly built a reputation as a leader with a deep respect for the crew. In 2014 she produced “Almost Paris”, her first New York-based movie which taught her the benefits of utilizing film tax credits for financing. That brought her to Kentucky in 2017 with the movie “Perception”. After realizing that she could be so close to her roots and continue to do what she loves, BD moved to Louisville, KY in 2018. She is an active member of the Producer’s Guild of America and an avid reader.
